The full name of our association is: Franco-Armenian Association AMARAS. Perhaps you want to know: why Amaras? In Nagorno-Karabakh, there is a Monastery called Amaras, it is an Armenian apostolic monastic complex. The church of the Amaras Monastery was founded by Grigor Lusavorich at the beginning of the 4th century. At the beginning of the 5th century, Mesrop Mashtots opened the first school in Artsakh at the Amaras Monastery. Most of the members of our association today are former citizens of Nagorno-Karabakh, born there and forced to leave their parental home and find refuge in France. This association aims to: promote Armenian culture by all means and in particular, to introduce Armenian culture through various courses, dance, song, Armenian language and literature; Facilitate the integration of foreigners into French society; Provide assistance and humanitarian aid and carry out solidarity and charitable actions for vulnerable populations in Armenia, socially underprotected populations (disabled, children alone, elderly people alone); Organize various intercultural, intercommunal, interdepartmental, national and international events; Support grieving families (administratively, financially and morally); Advise and support people in distress.
