About us
The church was designed by Vitaliano Poseli and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Together with the adjacent Armenian school, it was the centre of the Armenian community of Thessaloniki. The Armenian community at the time numbered 10,000 people; after World War II many returned to Armenia or emigrated to America. Many church items are kept in the sacristy, which is located at the end of Tsimiski Street along with the library and archive of the Armenian community.
