About us
The Armenian Cultural Center in Bucharest was opened. In the space that housed, for more than 50 years, the editorial office of the Nor Ghiank magazine, and after 1990 the Ararat magazine, an elegant space for cultural activities/actions was set up. And not by chance here, in Armeneasca street no. 13. Before 1989, many cultural meetings took place in this place full of history, even though it was the headquarters of the editorial office. Let's not forget that the Dudian Library had become the youth section of a public library and the community did not have its own cultural space. But we had this Armenian corner where we could listen to the music of Komitas or Haceaturian and read from the classics of Armenian poetry. Here we did New Year's Eves and carnivals, here we met each other. In other words, I was with the Armenians. I don't insist anymore, maybe a little history of this place should be written to which Sergiu Selian, Nşan Bogdan Căuş, Dicran Kundaccian, Hacik Tacvorian, Daniela Margarian, Anahid Andonian, Grig Burdea, Arpiar Sahaghian, Varujan Vosganian, Andi Papazian etc. etc. (forgive those I forgot) I'm back. We now have this center to meet for cultural evenings or for debates. And maybe we should, one evening, reminisce about that time when we were Armenians, we felt Armenians and we were with Armenians. We are waiting for you all!
