“MASIS” is the Old Armenian name for the biblical Mount Ararat. It provides information about the roots and origins of Anna Hakobyan (violin) and Karen Asatrian (piano and electric piano). They interpret popular melodies powerfully, vitally and sensitively. Their choice of pieces reflects the wide musical horizon of the two musicians, who were trained at the Yerevan Conservatory: unforgettable film music by Charlie Chaplin and Ennio Morricone can be heard as well as Armenian folk tunes or fast-paced tango nuevo classics by Astor Piazolla.
