Bringing people together means first and foremost reuniting individuals, members of our community who once lived close to one another and who are now scattered throughout our city. This house offers them a way to reconnect with that conviviality and that “natural practice” of community life. Bringing people together also means bringing associations together by offering them, if they wish, a headquarters or a meeting place, as well as the opportunity to join forces for common projects. But bringing people together is not enough. In a society where the risks of assimilation are significant and where the family no longer plays its role in transmitting Armenian identity, it is essential to awaken in younger generations, and to maintain in older generations, an interest in our language, our culture, our history, and also our future as a nation.
