Voskevaz Winery Davit Hovhannisyan Family 19 b., 8 Street 0220 Voskevaz +37498580970 info@voskevaz.am http://www.voskevaz.am/ About us Voskevaz Winery is located in Aragatsotn region of Armenia in the village by the same name, “Voskevaz,” which in Armenian means "golden bunch." The foothills area of the highest mountain in Armenia-Aragats is amazingly beautiful and diverse, and its land keeps cultural layers of ancient Armenian civilization. Just a couple of kilometers from the winery, on the edge of the picturesque gorge of river Kasakh, are located the remains of “Badali Jam” church built in the 5th-7th centuries. Nearby were found parts of karases (Armenian clay amphorae), which were dug into the ground and used to age the wine. Voskevaz Winery was established in 1932. With all of the modern innovations, it still has carefully preserved much of its authentic elements including the buildings. For tours prior booking is needed. Previous Next

Bazmavēp Armenian Academic Journal Serop Chamurlian, Editor Isola Di San Lazzaro 30126 Lido, Venice +39415260104 visite@mechitar.org https://mechitar.org/en About us Bazmavēp (Pazmaveb in Western Armenian; Armenian: Բազմավէպ, "Polyhistory") is an academic journal covering Armenian studies. It is published by the Mechitarist monastery in San Lazzaro degli Armeni, Venice, Italy. According to Robert H. Hewsen, it is the first Armenian scholarly journal.[3] and the longest-running Armenian publication still being published. Bazmavēp was established by Gabriel Aivazovsky and Ghevond Alishan in May 1843,[4] with the initial intention of publishing for three years.[5] Previous editors-in-chief have been Gabriel Aivazovsky (1843–48) and Ghevont Alishan (1849-51). In its earliest decades, Bazmavēp was an economic-philological biweekly journal, aiming to convey enlightening ideas, useful tips, ways to revive economic, political and careful life to the readers. In the first period, the magazine was occupied by religious-moral programs, the latest discoveries in the fields of science and industry, information about geographical and archeological inventions, nature and the richness of the subsoil. In the 1860s, Bazmavēp became a scientific periodical, published the works of Armenian and foreign scholars, and contributed to the development of Armenology. Around the turn of the 20th century, Bazmavēp published numerous articles regarding the Armenian question and later the Armenian genocide. Today, the journal includes scientific, theological, Armenological, historical, linguistic, bibliographic, artistic, educational materials. Previous Next

- Armenian EyeCare Project (AECP) | Miatsir Main
Armenian EyeCare Project (AECP) Dr. Roger Ohanesian, Founder & President 100 W. Foothill Blvd., Suite 203 91773 San Dimas, CA +19499334069 info@eyecareproject.com ; rostom@eyecareproject.com http://www.eyecareproject.com/ About us “The Armenian EyeCare Project’s mission is to eliminate preventable blindness in Armenia and to make quality eye care accessible to everyone in the country.” The AECP was founded after Armenia’s Minister of Health, in late 1991, asked the international community for help in fighting a “growing wave of blindness in Armenia” and for assistance with the country’s serious health crisis. The desperate circumstances in Armenia were a result of a number of widespread factors, all occurring at the same time. In 1988, about 50,000 people perished and countless others were injured in a devastating earthquake; a six-year war between Azerbaijan and Armenia began, resulting in thousands of serious injuries; and 70 years of Soviet (mis)management had devastating effects on Armenia and its progress, especially when it came to medical care infrastructure, the embargos on the East and West, and a number of severe eye diseases and conditions not seen in other countries. In addition to all of this was the alarming rate of juvenile diabetes and diabetes-related conditions. Previous Next
